By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here and in our Terms of Service.

- Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information (name, email, profile photo) Google shares with us. If you use a password instead, it is stored securely and is never visible to us in plain text.
- Student profile: name, class, district, school, and preferred language, used to personalise your study experience and district-level rankings.
- Study activity: the content you generate and interact with (notes, essays, exam papers, chat conversations), your quiz results, study time, and progress/reward activity on the platform.
- Parent monitoring code: an optional passcode you may choose to share with a parent or guardian so they can view your study activity.
- Technical information: basic device and usage information collected automatically to keep the Service secure and reliable.
- Payment information: if you purchase a Pro subscription, payment is handled by a secure, PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateway. We do not collect, see, or store your card, UPI, or net-banking details — we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, so we can activate your subscription.
2. How AI Features Use Your Content
When you use an AI-powered feature (Notes, Essay, Grammar, Exam, MCQ generation, or the AI Chat Assistant), the relevant text and, where applicable, images you provide are processed using trusted AI technology to generate a response tailored to your syllabus.
Chat conversations are retained only for a short period necessary to keep a conversation coherent and to maintain quality and safety of the Service, after which they are deleted.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, personalise, and improve the Service, including notes, exams, and MCQs tailored to your class and syllabus;
- To operate our progress-tracking, rewards, and leaderboard features fairly, and to detect and prevent misuse;
- To power the optional Parent Dashboard, when you choose to share your parent passcode with a parent or guardian;
- To send essential account communications (such as password resets) and to respond if you contact us;
- To maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service.
4. Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information, only as needed to operate the Service, with trusted service providers in the following categories:
- Cloud hosting & database providers — to securely store your account and study data;
- AI technology providers — to generate AI-assisted study content, as described in Section 2;
- Payment processors — to securely handle subscription payments, as described in Section 1;
- Sign-in providers — if you choose to sign in with Google;
- Communication tools — to deliver messages you send us through contact/feedback forms.
All service providers we work with are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purpose we've engaged them for. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users, or in connection with a business transition such as a merger or acquisition (in which case affected users will be notified).
5. Children's Privacy & Parental Consent
AssamStudyAi is designed for school students, many of whom are minors. We take this seriously:
- At sign-up, every user confirms they are either 18 or older, or have the permission of a parent or guardian to use AssamStudyAi — see our Terms of Service;
- We collect only the information needed to provide the Service, and do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data from any user;
- The optional Parent Dashboard gives parents and guardians direct visibility into a student's study activity;
- A parent or guardian may contact us at any time to review, correct, or request deletion of their child's account and data, and we will act on verified requests.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and profile information for as long as your account is active. Study activity, rewards, and leaderboard history are retained in line with the reward periods described in our Terms of Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where limited records must be retained for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate profile information (most fields are editable directly in your account);
- Delete your account and associated personal data;
- Withdraw consent for optional features, such as the Parent Dashboard or Google Sign-In;
- Raise questions or concerns about how your data is used.

AssamStudyAi is built for students in Assam, India. Some of our service providers may process or store data as part of their global infrastructure, and where this occurs, they are contractually bound to appropriate data-protection standards.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will make reasonable efforts to notify active users in-app before the change takes effect.
